Losing her best friend devastated the once happy-go-lucky Isabella, as did finding out the truth about the orphanage/food farm. It turns out Isabella was once a Grace Field House orphan herself and had a good friend named Leslie who was shipped off to be eaten. However, The Promised Neverland soon revealed that Isabella had a tragic backstory that explained parts of her conflicting personality. It’s fair to say Isabella is a bag of contradictions while she appears loving and affectionate to the orphanage’s children, she also proves to be cunning and violent and seems to display indifference towards their gruesome fates. Isabella is the caretaker of Grace Field House and is referred to as “Mama” by her young charges. It’s set in the year 2045 at an orphanage named Grace Field House and follows a trio of orphans – Emma, Norman and Ray – after they discover they’re not waiting to be adopted but are actually being harvested as food for demons.
